The latest Cairns website design from our busy studio is Strategic Builders who represents another prominent building company who have partnered with us on their marketing and advertising. With our support of the building industry with our top-tier sponsorship of the HIA Awards in both Cairns and Townsville, we've positioned ourselves in a position where we work with the majority of construction industry businesses in the region.
Strategic Builders are a bit different from the usual building company as they work on mostly government projects that are of a large budget, usually north of $10,000,000. We were tasked with producing a Cairns website design that suited this more corporate image, so we've used restraint on borders and icons that are more friendly to the smaller type of business and kept everything very clean cut with the overall design.
We also got to play with their corporate colours in the new Cairns website design and with the contrasting white frames, can see there's a bit of oomph to the design.
We also developed a new image stacking system for this new Cairns website design to further explore the possibilities of arranging images across the body of the website. We developed a css scaling rule that allows 4 boxed images to rearrange themselves and become a different layout, size and number of images to compensate for the changing dimensions of different screen sizes while also balancing depth with associated on page copy.
This means that with this Cairns website design, the images stack and arrange themselves differently, depending on the screen size they are being displayed on. So where we have 4 boxes stacked 2x2 on desktop screen resolutions, we set @media css rules to breakpoints where the design is no longer holding balance and clarity. So, as the screen gets smaller, the 4 2x2 boxes become 3 and then 2 and even different formats and scaling properties in between.
