In 2023 our small family run business was responsible for 80 digital marketing projects for our region and beyond. Whether this be by our class leading website design and development, videography, Google & YouTube marketing, SEO or graphic design services, we’ve delivered.
There are more digital marketing businesses operating in our industry now than ever before. This is because the demand for the services we provide continues to take centre stage as the priority for business marketing.
Next year we’re celebrating our 24th year in business. A milestone that not many businesses reach, especially in the ever rotating advertising industry. When you think of the industry we’re in, we’re basically the most experienced people on a national level at what we do. Not only because of the time we’ve spent in business, but also the sheer volume of projects we’ve produced.
The great thing about our industry is that it is always evolving. Our company keeps up and even steers these evolutions through our constant learning and adaptation to what products work best in the market.
This year we’ve expanded our service reach and team personnel to now incorporate another Graphic Designer and a Videographer to help produce our projects. We’ve introduced the Townsville & Cairns markets to the power of YouTube advertising and have implemented many winning campaigns. It really is an early adopters paradise with YouTube right now and through what we’ve seen by our experience as the first Google Partner in our region is that Google do tend to look after early adopters.

October has been another busy month. Not only did we produce 8 class leading digital marketing products for our valued clients, we also managed to do our part and get involved with both the HIA Awards in Cairns and Townsville, the latter being elongated at the end for the NQ HIA Awards.
We started at the Cairns HIA Awards which were held at the Pullman Cairns International. All up there were more than 250 people in attendance and, as a top tier sponsor of the event, we were privileged to hand out many awards and shout everyone drinks, of which many were consumed!
We saw the usual talent being recognised here and also some newcomers to the industry who are producing some fantastic work.
From here, the winners of the Cairns awards are now entered into the NQ award categories.
Allcorp then travelled to the Townsville HIA Awards held at The Ville Resort-Casino.
The Townsville HIA Awards were in two halves, the first half being the same award categories as those presented to the Cairns businesses earlier. After the initial Townsville awards the event took a break and moved onto the NQ region awards. This put the Cairns & Townsville winners together into a semi-final type award ceremony.
It was so great to see so many Allcorp clients receiving the recognition they deserve and we were honoured to be part of the celebrations once again. We’ve already committed to a higher level of support for both the Cairns & Townsville awards in 2024.
There will now be an Australia-wide final award night where the winners of the NQ awards are put in competition with the rest of the country and we hope to see some of our local business clients take home the ultimate top honours, as they always do.

Our long term client, Bruce Belcher's Daintree River Cruises, has been operating on The Daintree River since the year 1987. Local owners Bruce, Zona (and Son) Griffith Belcher have been dealing with Allcorp since the year 2010. How things have changed in the last 13 years when it comes to business marketing. And not just any business, a leading and integral tourism business, located in the Heart of The Daintree National Park, considered the oldest living rainforest in the world (approx. 135 million years), a destination that has over 400,000 annual visitors.
Bruce Belcher Daintree River Cruises continue to truly adapt to the new realm of modern digital marketing and are still maintaining this aspect in the year 2023. Originally printed brochures and adverts in the local newspaper used to be the way to promote their business. What we do today is as simple as ‘Googling it’ and booking online.
The owners at Bruce Belcher's Daintree River Cruises still commit to a marketing budget, but towards different things that are current and bring a higher yield. Their main source of marketing today is their website, Search Engine Optimisation and Google Ads marketing. They are now moving into a new dimension with a custom video production advertisement feature which is being positioned into YouTube marketing. Bruce Belcher's Daintree River Cruises' new ad exposure on the YouTube streaming giant now allows them to tell their story in the form of a 60 second ad to the entire world - “Come to the Daintree, and don’t forget to book online!”
Along with the existing Allcorp services which we provide them, they have also adopted our latest way of analysing their data through Google Analytics 4. Today, they can see a whole new aspect of how customers interact with their business online and even what each interaction has cost them. GA4 allows the team to monitor where they spend the majority of their marketing budget. Since they swapped all their marketing spend to a digital platform with Allcorp, we monitor everything with every click their audience interacts with on their website (even before entering the website).
The GA4 report we provide to Bruce Belcher's Daintree River Cruises shows the most important things they want to know about where their marketing budget goes. Among the data are volume of website visitors and users of the site and it was pretty cool to see there was a lot of website referrals from leading tourism legends such as AustralianTraveller.com, TropicalNorthQueensland.org.au and Escape.com. GA4 tells us how long these visitors spent on the website, where they exited the website, where they came from and even what keyword they searched for to arrive at the originating website. GA4 monitors what pages are more popular and exit pages once your website is closed; we track the last conversion interaction which generally always ends up being a phone call, e-mail or online booking thanks to our online booking functions.

We’ve heard a lot of clients notifying us that they have been approached by third party businesses who have a sales team predominantly spruiking the advantages of SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation.

In 2006 Google purchased YouTube for $1.65 billion (USD). If you can remember back to this time, Google were attempting to take dominance of online video streaming and sharing with their Google Video products. What's the difference between a website designer and a website developer?
These two professions require 2 uniquely different personality types and fit a very left brain/right brain distinction.

A website designer is exactly what it says on the tin. They design websites. Having a capable website designer working on your project is essential as this is the person responsible for ensuring everything looks great. A website designer has to have some basic coding skills if they are going to be able to do their job properly. There's no use being a great designer without the ability to use the tools that make the design.
A website designer will design everything you see on a website. A website is made up of the assets of images and text and the website designer also has to design these assets. All of these design assets then need to be positioned on the screen so the design maintains balance and design credibility.
Where it gets complicated is that they also have to arrange these assets on screens that are of many different sizes and dimensions such as on computers, tablets and phones. We can't believe it's been more than 6 years already, but here she still is. Many of our clients will know Tiffany well as she is the conduit that connects clients with our production studio. She's the 'make it happen' member of our team and it's been great to work alongside her for all of these years.
Tiffany has been instrumental at helping us maintain our client communications and has also grown very knowledgeable about the digital marketing industry over the last 6 years.
Tiffany has also developed long term relationships with many clients and is a key contributor to our high client retention statistics.
Having Tiffany as a valued member of the Allcorp team for such a long time made us all think of the stable nature of our team. Bril, for example, has been with Allcorp since the very beginning 24 years ago, Sherene started not long after 22 years ago, Peter started 20 years ago and Steve got involved as our developer 19 years ago.
With all of this longevity we've really developed great working relationships with our clients and it's great to have worked with local businesses who have passed the baton from one generation to the next; we've even seen a few third generation family business handovers.

Team Allcorp were honoured to be invited to mix with the business leaders of Cairns
We first met the team behind Field Construct when we designed their website in 2021 right after they had completed the $28 million rejuvenation and redesign of the Cairns Esplanade Dining Precinct. When Field Construct take on a project you can bet it'll be big, and also very good, as their awards trophy cabinet displays.
Outgrowing their old offices with their business booming, they completed the construction and fitout of their impressive new offices early this year and have just finished moving in. Field Construct seem to land all of the impressive construction projects in this region and it's no surprise that the business, under the leadership of their Director, Richard Field, is now the leading force behind the impressive and exciting new Screen Queensland Studios: Cairns.
At $12.6 million, it's no small project, and it was interesting to hear the team at Field Construct talk about the challenges, innovations and successes that this huge 6,500 square metre project on the old Bunnings site has encountered.
It was great to be surrounded by so many business leaders in our community at this opening. It was also great to be the digital marketing provider to so many that attended. We couldn't go 5 minutes without bumping into a client and having a chat. There were so many familiar faces from the building and construction industry that rely on Allcorp for all their digital marketing.
A big thank you to Field Construct for inviting us and we're looking forward to properly showcasing the new Screen Queensland Studios: Cairns project on their website. With the building being so huge, we're keen to collect great new video assets to add another element of great digital marketing exposure.

So many experts, so little experience
Listening to digital marketing advice from amateurs could be dangerous
The digital marketing gang have been busy imparting their wisdom across various platforms this year and some of the things they are saying are just plain wrong. It seems anyone can lose their job as a salesperson for a defunct media organisation and without actually studying or learning anything about the digital marketing and website design landscape, can start sprouting their advice from their self appointed pedestal.
We've seen a lot of these agencies offering advice and even holding workshops to mentor and advise businesses of the correct course of action when it comes to their marketing. We can see that what they are saying is inaccurate and misleading, but they are wanting to seem like a dominant force in the local industry here in North Queensland.
Our advice as the most experienced company to provide digital marketing services here in Cairns & Townsville, is to ask to see some of their work as proof that they know what they are talking about. The one thing we've noticed is a self-appointed digital marketing expert like those from the new, shiny local agencies, don't actually do any work. They sure like to talk about how good they are, but when you look at what projects they are doing, there are none.
If you have someone lecturing you on how a profession works and what is the correct way to do something make sure they can back up their claims with real world experience and successful outcomes in their field. If an agency says they are experts in SEO, Google Ads or website design, see what they are actually producing in these categories.
We saw one young agency flexing and shouting about how good they are at what they do, only to find that the biggest contribution they supplied to the local marketing industry for all of February was to design and print an A frame sign.
Be careful with expert agencies with no credibility to their name. Ask to see examples of their work and successes. If they can't show anything it's because they aren't actually doing any of the work in the field in which they are claiming to be experts.

Our 23rd birthday and outstanding client retention prove we must be doing something right
As you can see from the following website launches for January, we arrived back at our desks after the holidays and immediately got 10 websites produced. We haven’t really had a chance to come up for air, so apologies for missing the Happy New Year messages.
Of the websites we’ve produced this month a lot of them are redesigns of existing client websites. At Allcorp we take customer service very seriously and we always go the extra mile to ensure our clients are happy with our services.
We’ve even got clients who have been with us for the whole 24 years we’ve now been in business. By retaining our client base and also growing it at a swift pace shows that we really are the right choice for businesses looking to successfully market themselves.
